When working on a custom made commission, there are several things to consider in order to ensure a smooth and successful collaboration.
Clearly defining the scope of the project: Making sure me and the customer have a clear understanding of what is expected in the final product. This can include specifications, materials, and deadlines.
Setting realistic expectations: It's important for me to be upfront about what is and is not possible within the given timeframe and budget.
Communicating regularly: Establishing clear lines of communication and checking-in with the customer regularly to keep them informed of the progress of the project.
Being open to revisions: It's normal for customers to request changes or modifications to the original design. I'm always open to requests to change small details of the design as the production of the jewel progresses so that the final product meets their expectations.
A jewellery custom design is a team effort and I often work closely with customers through a design brainstorm and by handpicking the most beautiful gems with them.
